The story

From refuge to riddim

Paolos TK blends the rhythms of Ethiopia and Eritrea with the heart of Jamaican reggae. His journey, from seeking refuge to building a new life in America, runs through every song.

He released his debut album, Contagious Love, in 1991. In the early '90s he was a founding member of Zionsoundz in Santa Cruz, California, alongside Miguel Migs, who went on to become an internationally known house music producer and DJ. The band recorded its album in 1993.

Solo albums Liberty (1999) and Wounded Bear (2004) followed, along with the 2016 single "Bella" featuring Al Pancho. Now based in Eugene, Oregon, Paolos TK is bringing new music, international collaborations and live shows to a new generation of roots fans.
